Well, I am sitting here waiting on loving wife to return from a midnight trip to Wal-Mart. Now this is not a routine thing, mind you, but neither is it a first time occurrence in our household.
This particular trip was generated by the need to buy two Nintendo Gameboy DS gaming units for our boys as Christmas presents. You see, they are being released tomorrow (today) and since they are reportedly in short supply, loving wife decided to head on up to Wal-Mart where they put stuff out at midnight. That way she beats the morning rush . . . or so the theory goes.
When I say this is not a first time occurrence, I mean that we have done this on one or two other Christmas shopping sprees and I have done it a few times when I was trying to get collector editions of very popular computer games.
In fact, I plan a midnight trip to Wal-Mart on Tuesday night to get the collector edition of World of Warcraft which is being released on Wednesday the 23rd.
Gotta beat the rush, ya know . . .
UPDATE:
Loving wife returned successfully from her Wal-Mart hunting trip. She reports that she had a small disagreement with a clerk who was under the mistaken impression that she could only sell one Gameboy per customer, but a quick discussion with the manager corrected this misconception and she left with her bounty. I kinda feel sorry for the clerk and the manager, since they had no chance whatsoever.
